Moyes shrugs off transfer question

David Moyes says signing a replacement for Sebastien Haller is not important unless he can be guaranteed of signing the right player.

Asked whether it was important to sign a new striker by a BT Sport post-match the West Ham manager said: “It would be important if the right ones were there, but it is only important if the right players are available and the one’s we want, No we don’t want to bring people in here who we regret doing and doesn’t help the team, We will try and get somebody but if we don’t we will find solutions within the squad.”

Asked if anyone is on the transfer radar at the moment Moyes shrugged and said “Not at the moment, No!’

Yesterday Moyes admitted that the club had made a bid for Sevilla striker Youssef En-Nesyri but for it to be turned down later admitting he had three to four bids for players in total in addition to many ‘big enquires’.

The Gaffer seems to be managing supporters expectations that he might sign no-one unless he can be sure they can improve the current team.

  1. This has all the hallmarks of classic PL politics, we are threatening the status quo so they will probably dock us points. What idiot decided to say it was part of the deal god only knows, we do know Allardyce did but clubs have been doing this for years, we should have just held onto him until after we played them… If it was one of the big clubs would have been ignored..,
