Moyes snubs striker

Speculation that David Moyes is interested in Borussia Mochengladbach striker Alassane Plea are wide of the mark.

The striker has been linked with the Irons in the past but CandH understands that the manager had decided against the player several weeks ago,

The news broke in L’equipe yesterday but the manager doesn’t believe the 28 year old scores sufficient goals to be worth a punt.

He has managed just 29 in 91 games for the Bundesliga outfit and previously scored 36 in 112 appearances for Nice.

Moyes is still very much on the hunt for a forward but as explained many times refuses to buy anybody who he believes doesn’t bring top form to the table and can battle for a first team place.

The boss is also still desperate to sign a central defender and and should that happen it looks very likely that and deal making will go right down to deadline day.
