Moyes so excited for second half of season

Ok, the window has been put to bed and more than enough (probably) has been said about it by many of us!

Judgements on the rights and wrongs of what  didn’t occur will no doubt emerge at the end of the season which has  – if nothing else – been hugely exciting so far.

It’s been good to have nearly a season and a half with few moans and groans and with January past, hopefully the lads will lead us into a second half of the season to bring us the success we crave.

For now it’s best to put all our anxieties aside – because frankly there’s nothing else we can do – and look ahead to another busy few days…Kiddy in the FA Cup, Watford and Leicester City.

Some top results and the bubbles will arise again and being wrong or right in our assessments will be as immaterial as it gets.

David Moyes is more than hopeful and at this stage shouldn’t really be questioned despite myself – like some others having so. Yes I can admit being wrong LOL!

The boss has had a brilliant season so far and speaking to West Ham TV said: “Look, we’re building and we’re growing really well. I think what we’re really looking forward to now is what’s coming ahead of us in the second half of the season.

I see nearly every game being a Cup final. I hope we’re in a Cup final somewhere along the road, but I really do think that we’ve got nearly every game now will be a Cup final because it’s either meaning we’re challenging for places in Europe or we’re trying to get through in the FA Cup or trying to get through in the Europa League. So, I see the second half of the season being really exciting for us.”

” I’m hoping that the players can get right back to their top form. Obviously, we’ve just recently got Cressy and Kurt back, which has given us a boost as well.

We’ve got Saïd back from the African Nations as well, so we’re very close to full tilt at the moment and Angelo is the only one who we’re really missing. So hopefully we can keep them all fit and keep them in good form.

Everybody in the Club has been brilliant, they really have been. I have to say there’s been some things said about the Board, but the Board in this transfer window have been brilliant. They have backed me and tried to support me in all the moves.

I’ve got to say, the work Karren Brady’s done to try and see if we could get some deals and get things happening, she’s been really good. David Sullivan has been really supportive, Daniel Křetínský has just come in, and David Gold, they’ve all been really good in helping me over the window so it’s always good when your owners are helping you and trusting you as well.

We know we’re growing we’re going in the right direction and hopefully we can keep that going.”

  1. Does Karen Brady act as a go between then. Between Moyes Sullivan gold and kretinsky I mean. In other words did Moyes communicate what players he wanted, or what deals he wanted to make through Karen Brady and then she communicated it to the board. Is that how it works now?

  2. The wrongs from this window should not be put to bed, in fact a full analysis needs to be carried out as to what went so terribly wrong and the focus of this attention need to be on the recruitment side, had they the right strategy, did we focus on the right type of players, did we focus on the right markets, did we clearly understand the manager’s requirements, why did we leave it so late in the window to make our moves etc.. We have failed to recruit the players we needed to recruit and we cannot afford to make the same mistakes again, if we just move ahead and not improve our recruitment process with the learnings from this window we will make the same mistakes again. I certainly have not forgotten this but I am looking forward to the lads being back on the pitch but I am very nervous for the second half of the season which I should not be.

  3. David Moyes may be excited about the second half of the Season, but I live in dread of it. May everything possible forbid, but what if Zomma and Cresswell start to feel problems with their injuries. Memories of a match, where we were so thin on Players that we played a lot of our Youth Team and they got murdered. Comes rushing back to mind. Moyes can talk until he is blue in the face. We have to many matches to cover, with to few Players to cover them. Result exhaustion, injuries and defeat. This I fear most of all.

  4. No let’s do it now, whilst there are Managers out there ready to replace the one who cannot even use an out and out Striker properly. Yarmalenko and Haller are examples. Moyes has no idea how to use them properly. Move the Player to another side or put them in an International and they score goals. What does that tell us ?

    • Let’s get this clear. You want us to sack the manager who’s pulled this club from being constant relegation strugglers to champions league challengers in the space of two seasons. Have I missed something here?

  5. Blimey a few assassinations here! I’m not happy with a blank window either, but it’s done. Hope to see our U23 players shine. Perhaps the perspective will be there after the summer transfers? Who knows? Bubbles!!
