Ten thousand lucky fans will return to the London Stadium on Sunday to watch one of the most motivated West Ham teams they will have seen for many moons.
And it’s totally fitting that a team which has given so much over the last year should aytb last hear and feel the emotion of the supporters.
Neither David Moyes or the players can wait to give a thank you performance to those inside and outside the stadium after the most difficult year most of us will ever have experienced.
They will be looking for the single point – preferably three – which is the most important they will have collected in years.
The manager is in a position to play the team which earned an incredibly important three points at the Hawthorns and although he again refuses to given anything away, that means Darren Randolph will keep goal rather than Lukasz Fabianski.
Speaking at his pre-match presser he said: “We’re bringing them back to a really positive team who have played well and have put in some brilliant performances and effort throughout the season.
I think it’s fitting that the players have a chance to be cheered, because they deserve to be for how well they’ve performed this season.
This year, we’ve had so many who have performed at a high level. I was told it’s the first time we’ve had [multiple] players get ten goals, and it’s something that we need to do even better.
We’ve got a couple of players on ten goals this year, which has been good, and I hope they can increase that before the end of Sunday. “
On Fab’s injury he said: “We don’t think it’s quite as bad as we thought at the time on Wednesday, but whether he’s available to play this weekend, it will genuinely be a last-minute call.”
Think its great.Winning tomorrow will for me anyway will show me the old West Ham have gone. They used to build us up to let us down .Think and trust those days have gone. I for one will be so happy if we do it .Even with a draw. Though think and hope we will win. Hopefully with Moyes better days ahead. Starting tomorrow !
Likewise I shall be there in spirit on Sunday.
The team deserve a great reception from the crowd.
What a difference from the end of last season.
Well done to everybody concerned.
Up the Irons
