Moyes summer window options crystal clear

|

David Moyes has made Jesse Lingard and a striker/s his major priorities for the summer window.

Injury issues means strikers required

Manchester United are reported to want around £20 million for the player with his wages at £107k a week.

Jesse rises 29 in December so of course a three year deal – which would be his expectation – would take him to within nine months of 32.

Despite there being no sell on value, the club are keen to do a deal and will move heaven and earth to make it happen with the player having made it clear that he could hardly be happier at the club.

And there’s no question of relying on him to provide the false 9 option on a regular basis which other clubs would very soon start to read.

Moyes and the club know that the other major requirement is a striker – or even two – and whether that is a permanent signing or another loan remains to be seen.

The manager and club are aware that to rely solely on Mikey Antonio, given his hamstring issues, is a non starter.
