David Moyes admits he is ready to blood some youngsters next week against FCSB!
The Hammers cruised through to the Europa Conference League last-16 on Thursday night after beating Silkeborg 1-0.
They are the only club in the competition to have won all five of their games thus far.
And, as a result, Moyes now has the option to rotate heavily next week when the Irons face FCSB again.
The Irons beat the Romanian side 3-1 at home, and Moyes was asked about the potential of bringing through some kids next week to give the senior stars a break.
Speaking after the Silkeborg game, the boss said, as per Football.London: “Ideally I would try something similar [to last year], but I’ve got a really young group and if I think there’s any of the boys ready to play. I’m watching Sporting Lisbon, a lot of teams play 18, 19 year olds. So let’s see if they can stand up to it and show what they can do. There might be an opportunity for a few of them next week to get a game.”
It makes sense, too, when one considers that the Hammers face Manchester United away on Sunday and then play Crystal Palace at home three days after the FCSB game.
Moyes has shown a willingness to bring fringe players into the side throughout the campaign, with Conor Coventry a beneficiary against Silkeborg last night.
master
exactly,Moyes doesn’t bring on youngsters at all. it’s taken 18 games for Coventry to play his 2nd game. Against lesser teams than are in the Championship.
Alese has had several MOM performances for Sunderland and their fans can’t understand how we let him go.
He’ll play a couple of kids out of position with some players who won’t be trying to hard in a meanigless game.
Hear that boys, you’ve got one game to make an impression or he’s gonna bomb you out of all squads just like he did to the young fellas last year.
