Moyes up for top-four fight

David Moyes insists the Hammers are well up for the top four fight!

The Irons go into this weekend’s game with Arsenal knowing they need to win to keep pace with those pushing for Champions League qualification.

A win will move the Irons level on points with Chelsea, who are playing in the FA Cup this weekend, and would be an undoubted boost for the Irons.

Goal difference means we won’t be in the Champions League places unless Arsenal are beaten 10-0, but we at ClaretandHugh never like to rule anything out!

Still, Moyes insists that the Irons, despite the pre-season predictions, have set their sights firmly on dining at Europe’s top table after such a magnificent season.

Speaking to reporters ahead of this weekend’s game, as quoted by the club’s official website, he said“It’s incredibly important if we’re pushing for the top four which we want to do.

“The top four is not something people were talking about before the season but we’re going to try to do our best for it.”

The Hammers will also be out to avenge the defeat in the reverse fixture at the Emirates, which was more than harsh given the domination the Irons had in the game.

  1. Should be good if he lets the team go over the half way line.

  2. Well we weren’t really up for it against Man Utd were we . We played two completely different games during 90mins . First cautious and then attacking , neither worked against a very good Man Utd . We lost to the odd goal and we can’t be sure it would have been any different if we had gone all out for the win . The upcoming Arsenal game though is altogether a different proposition , we must put in a winning performance if we want a place in the top four . This is a massive game for our ambitions . Just hope Moyes sees it the same way .
