David Moyes is ready to take a good look at Robert Snodgrass when the player returns from his season long long loan spell at Aston Villa in the summer.
The Scot has been in top form for the Championship side over the last few games and has scored goals which have helped them hit the play off zone.
And that hasn’t escaped Moyes’ notice as he and the board looks towards a long stay at the Hammers regardless of our status.
Snodgrass’ form – albeit at Championship level – has not gone unnoticed and Moyes is keen to take a close look at his fellow countryman in pre-season.
Villa will need to find a minimum of £8 million to sign the winger permanently but Moyes will want to assess his ability and attitude on the training pitch before allowing him to move on (or otherwise).
We were told: “Nothing is written in tablets of stone. Robert is our player until 2020 and the manager will be wanting to give him a pre-season when decisions can be made.”
Moyes is a short term solution for our club and not the future so if he is planning on looking at Snodgrass in the summer let’s hope its for his new club.
Unfortunately our owners have an abysmal record in choosing managers (Bruce, Mcleish,Grant, Allerdyce,Bilic and Moyes) but if we are to move on as a club forget Moyes forget Snodgrass they are both at championship level.
Championship is his level. He is totally out of his depth and gets found out too much against the next level opposition. He looked good at Hull as they had a mediocre championship squad but since joining us, he hasn’t shown any promise. Yes he works hard and runs around a lot but produces nothing at the end of it for all his effort. Some of you people have very short memories!!
Agree 64 & Kev. Snod is good squad player & especially with are thin squad. Loaning him out for whole year w no recall & selling Feghouli for peanuts was mad. They both could have been used this season.
And would think Moyes likes British players so was thinking he would like to have Snodgrass back in but after what Sully Said & now Brady why would he won’t to come back? He might push for a move even if we wanted him back & this summer might be the best time to sell & recoup some of our money with age.
Only issue is Moyes doesn’t seem to fancy looking outside the PL to much especially at foreign players outside UK. Which is wheeee the young talent in our price range is.
I’d have Snodgrass back this Jan if we could need bodies.
Snodgrass went from Good to Bad under Bilic . Maybe under Moyes we would see the real Snodgrass . Villa is enjoying a Good Snodgrass ,,,,,, says it all really .
And Snodgrass is not alone in the group of players that became suddenly mediocre under Bilic . You can see West Ham slowly but surely developing some sort of style albeit a bit in the shadows at the moment . Reckon we can come out from under the shadows and into the sunshine this year . Away to Tottenham tomorrow is going to be a very tough match .
Our defense and midfield must be absolutely on top of Thier game . Definitely a case for Collins to start . We don’t fear Spurs , it’s just that we need that spark to play with confidence . Yesterday’s win over Albion was great even if it was fortunate ,, but how often do teams score or concede in the last gasp of a game .? . It was our turn yesterday .
Both Carroll & Noble gave a top notch performance and deserve another stab at 90mins .
It’s a case of stick or twist ,,,, I say “ stick “ .
People worry about Kane too much . We must make them worry about Carroll , Anautovic and Lanzini . Plus we have Adrian who is a definitely one of the top keepers in the Prem .
We can beat the Spuds on our day and maybe tomorrow will be ours .
COYHAMMERS
Scored 2 the other night. I still think he could have been a decent squad player here. OK in the days when we were still dreaming of the Champions League he might not have looked up to the job, but now we realise the Championship is more likely,at leastleast in the near future, he could play a part. I think he has also shown some class in the face of some needless comments e.g. Princess Karen’s recently.
