Moyes wants signings to shape Irons future

|

David Moyes is continuing to play it cool over the lack of action in the summer window.

He clearly doesn’t feel the next fortnight is particularly crucial as far as our top six aspirations are concerned this season.

He has made it clear over recent days that he flatly refuses to sign players for the sake of it and talking to reporters he has made similar points again.

He said: “I don’t  think signings always make the difference when you bring them into the club. History at West Ham indicates a lot of the signings haven’t made the difference .

I hope more recently they have with the likes of Soucek, Coufal – they have made a big difference. So it’s getting the right players that’s important. I can go and get players in bit if they are the wrong ones then that’s not going to us better.

You have to  pick through to find the right ones for the team. When I came in we wanted to get a younger team, and work with players over a number of years.

Yes, of course, we are going to sign 29 year olds from time to time but really we want younger players in the team for the future.”
