Moyes warning as Hammers prepare to go fourth

West Ham can move into fourth place with a win at Crystal Palace but David Moyes refuses to get carried away by such issues.

The Hammers are looking for revenge over the south Londoners and there would be no better time to do so given the top four circumstances.

With no injuries other than Arthur Masuaku the boss is looking for victory over a team from which we have managed to take only one point in the last three meetings.

Roy Hodgson’s outfit is very much out of form and there’s clearly a great opportunity to boost our points tally to 35.

But with the squad growing and developing it would probably mean no more than that at this stage although the sight of the league table with us in such a great position would give all of us involved with the club a huge boost.

Moyes made his position clear at the pre-match presser today saying: “A win on Tuesday would take us fourth, but I think we’re a long way off a top-four finish at the moment. 

We’re a work-in-progress and the team are doing an excellent job. We want to be ambitious, but at West Ham we always get asked these questions after we win a few games. 

Overall, we’re a team that’s growing. This time last year, we were just outside the bottom three, trying to avoid relegation.

    Completely agree with him, unless we get lucky with other teams form top 8 would represent an excellent finish, if we do qualify for Europe that would be amazing but everything is so congested in mid-table that we are months off settling down… Moyes will keep the players honest and whatever will be, will be COYI!!!
