Moyes: “We didn’t play well”…err correct!

David Moyes delivered a snap reaction to the thrashing from an in second gear Manchester City and went a little coy on us all.

He told the BBC: “We didn’t play well today. There are reasons for that, (our italics) and also the quality of Manchester City.

“We didn’t do things as well as we should. You need things to go for you and a bit of good fortune when you play a team like Manchester City.

“We grew into the game. I thought we did it better in the last 15 minutes of the first half. You need to have the quality off all-round top defenders if you are to do things further up the pitch.

Now the big thing is to try to win the next game.”

It would have been helpful if he had elaborated on the things he said what the reasons were in full although it seemed to most that he may have been talking about everything!

  1. i didn’t even watch it after I saw the starting 11 ..you don’t expect anything but when you set up to keep your goal difference down its obvious you will get stuffed..pathetic really why not have a go ..some people will say because you will get stuffed …wel! That happened anyway …boys against men …..you got to laugh starting evra to shore us up .. Sad sight really… ….

  2. We are among the top scorers outside the top 6,balanced against an appalling defensive record, yet he persists in playing Arnoutovic alone up top whilst Carroll,Hernandez and Hugill twiddle their thumbs.Somethings not right. At least die fighting.

  3. I’ve supported the Hammers for many years and they have never been good at defending. The West Ham way is to play open football and attack. If we had done so against Stoke recently I have no doubt we would have won. Swansea tried to shut up shop against Man City and got hammered, yet Moyes still attempted to do the same. Mario has done little when played as Fernandes yet they are still picked it’s no wonder Carroll is unhappy .Moyes needs to pick and attacking team and push forward in the last three games and I’m sure we will get the points we need

  4. Yes well they are under you and your coaching team’s instructions!!!!!!
