Moyes: We’ve dragged ourselves through a hedge backwards

|

David Moyes and the squad’s late recovery has proved enough to keep fans happy given that 12th place is now in prospect.

Along with a European Cup Final and the possibility of overhauling Chelsea and dropping them to bottom London club things could and well might have been be a lot worse.

Moyes in discussing the campaign with reporters said “I think the fans would probably have accepted that at the outset of the season.

But, you know, we’ve had to drag ourselves through a hedge backwards  to get to this point. We might not have liked or enjoyed that part of the journey but I think if you get to the finish line the way it is I think that would be OK.”

He is more than aware of previous club Everton’s position and must domhis best at Leicester to ensure that either they or Leicester slip into the Championship.

And he added:  People have been texting me about Everton, if you beat Leeds or if you do this or that. But Everton have got it in their own hands, it’s up to Everton.
