Moyesie speaks on Lingard’s “worldie”

David Moyes has lauded Jesse Lingard’s “worldie” to win the game for Manchester United against West Ham on Sunday.

The midfielder, of course, came off the bench in the closing stages of the encounter at the London Stadium and managed to break plenty of hearts within the London Stadium.

Indeed, in the final minute of the game, Lingard took the ball into the box, dropped a shoulder, and curled an absolutely sensational strike into the top corner of Lukasz Fabianski’s goal.

As we know, Mark Noble went on to miss a penalty as United managed to see the game out but Moyes was mightily impressed with the strike from the England international.

That came after Lingard had been directly responsible for United’s defeat to Young Boys in the Champions League in midweek, as his errant back pass led to their winner.

And Moyes said after the game, as quoted per BBC Sport: “Jesse had been great for us. Jesse had a terrible mistake mid-week, he came back and scored a worldie against us.”
