Friends reunited as David Moyes gets the band back together
David Moyes is reuniting with his old West Ham backroom team at Everton.
The former Hammers boss has returned to his spiritual home on Merseyside during a time of significant change for the Toffees.
Everton are a club in major transition, with a new ownership group and the upcoming move to their purpose-built stadium on the Merseyside waterfront, simply named “Everton Stadium.”
Before the big move, Moyes looks set to bring in Billy McKinlay and Alan Irvine to strengthen his backroom staff at Goodison Park.
Moyes was never quite the same manager at West Ham after Irvine left to spend more time with his family up north. While Irvine stayed on in a part-time role for a short spell, Moyes struggled to maintain the same level of consistency at the London Stadium without his trusted ally.
Now, the duo will likely rediscover their synergy, and Everton will hope to reap the rewards. Adding further experience to the setup, former Hammers coach Billy McKinlay is expected to complete the reunion
Not the same without his old mate Irvine but Moyes won a European trophy without his old mate Irvine didn’t he?
Nice to read such varied and informed comment. As someone who was a never missed a game home or away Evertonian in my youf. I am now a resident of east ish London who occasionally gets to watch the Hammers with my mates. I see many parallels between these clubs. I also watch Millwall occasionally. Give peace a chance. Sorry about the punctuation. X
Your punctuation’s great mate.
That’s a greengrocer’s apostrophe Gonzo. Plurals don’t have apostrophes. Should be Toffees.
otherwise it would be plural’s and apostrophe’s in the above.
Nothing else to say about this item.
Couldn’t agree more, however if you’re going to get ‘grammar policey’…….Otherwise, we all remember the capital letter rule, don’t we?
60s (or should that be 60’s) supporter lol.. glass houses and stones
Really don’t want to read, see or hear anything about former managers. Let’s just focus on ourselves and move forward.
Whether it was a good idea to force Moyes out or not he is now Everton manager and has no place on a West Ham website in my opinion otherwise its in danger of coming across as sour grapes and bitter obsession.
Would love to see Everton go down with Moyes in charge just to shut up all those media melts that bang on about him being a safe pair of hands and for us West Ham fans be careful what we wish for.
It would be a sweet revenge for all of us West Ham fans that had to endure his awful football for the last couple of seasons if he went down with Everton….I would love it so much
To bad for you that will not happened you ungrateful fan. He won you a title!
Too right!
Good luck to them, dire, grinding, dinosaur football and a squad size of 16 whose average age is 32.
You’re welcome, enjoy the regular capitulations too.
Agreed with earlier point, this is a West Ham site, why discuss Everton’s irrelevant issues…..move on.
Won a European trophy in his last two seasons. Not too hard for you to bear was it?
You speak without switching your brain on…give to our head a wobble!!
You don’t come across as a true Hammers fan, suspect you’re stirring the pot.
Yep Irvine is like Peter Taylor was for Cloughie. Very underated.
