Moyesy’s amusing nickname moan up

David Moyes has appeared to be a little sensitive over various things in the past like kicking a ball at a ball boy for example.

Like most managers he has had a pop at players, refs and all the rest of it but he has now turned his attention to the media and one reporter in particular.

He shot the individual down during a press conference when he clearly decided that he really thought it was a bit too strong when being addressed by his nickname Moysey.

The 59 year old Scot, shot back after a journalist began his question in a press conference using it when opening his questioning.

David Moyes fumed on the touchline at Goodison Park

Moyes began to laugh and replied: “F***ing hell, I don’t think we are that close.”

Some fans of the Irons were less than impressed with Moyes’ comeback with one commenting on Twitter: “He’s lost the plot.”

Maybe so but the reality is no reporter should be using nicknames when addressing managers or players unless they are trying to impress their colleagues.

And as the Hammers boss was clearly indicating his relationship with the press/media is a professional operation but for all that it was an amusing little sideshow and I trust the reporter concerned was duly embarrassed.
