Murphy challenges White on Moyes Everton opinion

talkSPORT and Sky Sports broadcaster Jim White told listeners that Davi Moyes is set to sign a new three-year contract at West Ham to end speculation about a second spell on Merseyside with Everton.

Speaking on talkSPORT on Friday morning, White said: “Who are Everton going to get?

“David Moyes, we hear, has now agreed a three-year contract with West Ham United amidst big interest, again, from Everton. And of course, you would expect that with Everton looking for a manager, would they go back for Moyes?”

Danny Murphy then replied: “Well, they wouldn’t because the fans didn’t want him.”

White continued: “Well yes but regardless of that, he’s loved by people like Bill Kenwright, he’s loved by all of them there at that level.

“But it’s going to be a three-year deal at West Ham.”

Claret and Hugh say:

As we have said before, the three year deal with David Moyes has agreed weeks ago in principle and only the finer detail between lawyers needed to be sorted out which they virtually are.  It is doubtful whether there was any real interest from Everton and even if there was David Moyes had already given his word to David Sullivan that he was committed.  The papers have had their fun now with wild speculation. We expect David Moyes to sign on the dotted line next week followed by an official announcement and Everton will appoint Nuno espírito Santo as their new manager.  We can then all move on as it all getting a bit boring now.
