Napoli target Benitez replacement

benitez1-399817According to reports in Italy, Sevilla manager Unai Emery is being targeted to take over as manager of Napoli freeing up Rafa Benitez who has refused to commit his future to the club beyond the end of this season. Emery has guided Sevilla to the Europa League final this season and they are also within touching distances of the Champions League spots in La Liga with two games to play.

He spent a successful time at Valencia, where he finished in third place behind Real Madrid and Barcelona in successive seasons.

The latest news will encourage West Ham as they look for a summer replacement for Sam Allardyce with current Napoli boss Rafa Benitez seen as the front runner. Benitez has been linked with a number of vacant summer jobs including Newcastle and Sevilla in addition to the Hammers. Liverpool fans chartered a plane to reveal a banner saying ‘Rodgers Out Rafa in’ at the beginning of May.

However Sky Italia claim Benitez might take a year out of the game after a stressful spell at Napoli and Inter Milan before that.

    ahah… Serie A stressed him out … Don’t worry Rafa, if you’re going to be West Ham manager, I’m sure Davids will send you to a spa to replenish yourself for a month…

    Unai Emery sounds like a good manager for us,
    Why are we not showing interest in him not someone he is replacing,
    He worked miracle under terrible money restrictions at valencia no produced good football
    And finishing 3rd twice in La Liga,
    But hay ho I will settle for Rafa

    I thought the same about Emery bubs. I’m not sure where all this is going but I’m getting nervous. I hope to God the Davids are well ahead in negotiations and we don’t get stuck clutching at straws.

    My money is on Bilic,changes everyday who i think but im also going to have a cheeky little punt on De Boer.I had a moment of clarity amongst all the other dross that floats around in my head & i believe he could be a viable target still.Even if he says he wants to stay at Ajax he could be lured to the Prem im sure.But im just a rabid dog so maybe my thoughts are crazy,lol 😀
