According to reports in Italy, Sevilla manager Unai Emery is being targeted to take over as manager of Napoli freeing up Rafa Benitez who has refused to commit his future to the club beyond the end of this season. Emery has guided Sevilla to the Europa League final this season and they are also within touching distances of the Champions League spots in La Liga with two games to play.
He spent a successful time at Valencia, where he finished in third place behind Real Madrid and Barcelona in successive seasons.
The latest news will encourage West Ham as they look for a summer replacement for Sam Allardyce with current Napoli boss Rafa Benitez seen as the front runner. Benitez has been linked with a number of vacant summer jobs including Newcastle and Sevilla in addition to the Hammers. Liverpool fans chartered a plane to reveal a banner saying ‘Rodgers Out Rafa in’ at the beginning of May.
However Sky Italia claim Benitez might take a year out of the game after a stressful spell at Napoli and Inter Milan before that.
