West Ham are suddenly being linked with major upgrades to the midfield: Mario Stroekyens, Milan’s Yunus Musah and Argentine Nicólas Gonzalez all linked in one day points clearly to the Hammers’ main priority being the midfield overhaul.

Another who has been reported today as popping back on the radar is Chelsea’s Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall – ‘West Ham to seal Dewsbury Hall transfer’ features among todays headlines – footballinsider.co.uk’s Facebook page and others.

Suddenly out of nowhere the former Leicester midfielder is back on the radar as a move to West Ham is seen as an opportunity for the forgotten English player to relaunch his career.

This is nothing new, in actual fact, as thesun.co.uk called it on 5th June with their article “Chelsea ‘offer Robert Sanchez and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall’ in player-plus-cash deal for West Ham star Mohammed Kudus”: I’m not sure West Ham fans will be rejoicing about the goalkeeper part of that report – but the buzz around media today suggesting Dewsbury-Hall is back under consideration does make for interesting reading in the context of the Sun’s original report.

Mohammed Kudus for Sanchez, Dewsbury Hall and cash could indeed take West Ham forward in a big leap. Kudus having changed agents certainly suggests he’s looking for someone to negotiate best terms for his exit so here’s one more deal that has a ring of possibility about it. There’ve been too many false dawns to get too excited just yet. But things are afoot. How’s that for a bit of positivity?

From the old Bobby Moore Upper to the Billy Bonds' stand these days - sometimes- have to admit I have not renewed my season ticket... I've been watching since '03 and a supporter since about 1970..
Favourite player - Dean Ashton: Still watch YouTube repeats of the Cup Final of 2006 hoping in vain that Shaka Hislop grows six inches and stops Steven Gerrard's injury time equaliser. Can tell I'm getting old knowing I saw both Mark Noble's debut and his last game at West Ham.
Pulling on a Claret and Blue replica shirt still makes me feel the same butterflies as when I was seven years old. Magic.
