Neville and Carragher drool over Hammer

|

Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher have been so impressed with Declan Rice this season.

The pair went through their end-of-season awards on Monday Night Football ahead of Arsenal’s loss to Newcastle at St James’ Park.

And the two both picked Declan as their best young player of the season.

Neville claimed that the England international is a “massive player” for the Irons, and expects him to stay for another season, despite there being interest in signing him from the top clubs in the league.

In their Team of the Season, Carragher picked Declan in his midfield, alongside Manchester City duo Kevin De Bruyne and Bernardo Silva.

Neville didn’t, instead opting to pick City’s Rodri, but it is high praise for the Hammer, who has helped his side to the Europa League semi-finals and to within a game of a sixth-placed finish.

We’ll have to side with Carragher on this one – Dec would be in our Team of the Season all day long!
