New Aguerd issue causes Moyes a real headache

By Hughie Southon

Nayef Aguerd remains a doubt for the clash against Brentford at the London Stadium tomorrow evening.

The central defender appears to have recovered from the thigh problem which suffered in Morocco’s World Cup clash against Belgium.

However, he was hit by a virus at the same time and has lost weight as a result of that and the manager must decide whether to launch him into the game or wait until he is back to hisĀ  normal weight levels.

It’s a big problem for Moyes as Kurt Zouma won’t be back until mid January, leaving him with the option of playing either Kehrer or Johnson at central defence.

And that in itself represents another problem with Kehrer particularly unimpressive against Arsenal and Coufal offering the possibility of being replaced for the Bees clash.

The naturalĀ  candidate would be Johnson as Kehrer has been even less impressive in the position than he has been at central defence.

Maxwel Cornet remains unavailable.
