West Ham United have not given up in their interest in Nice defender Jean-Clair Todibo and submitted an improved loan offer, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Despite Todibo’s preference for a move to Serie A giants Juventus, the Hammers remain determined to secure his signature this summer

The Hammers had identified the 24-year-old as a potential defensive reinforcement but have been met with a setback in their pursuit of the highly-rated centre-back.

Nice have knocked back West Ham’s initial offer, believed to be in the region of £30 million, as they hold out for a higher fee. The French club have also fielded interest from Juventus, who are keen on securing Todibo’s services.

Todibo would be a wonderful signing for the Hammers. He is incredibly powerful in the air, possesses pace, is a great tackler and reads the game very well.

And it gets better, as he is only 24 the Frenchman has at least 10 years left ahead of him playing at the highest level, and the partnership he would form with Kilman could be a formidable one.

Whether West Ham can complete this deal without the exit of Nayef Aguerd or Kurt Zouma remains to be seen. However, there is no doubting the clubs ambition in this transfer window.

Can’t see this happening as player wants Juve and Champions League football. When Juve sell Chiesa they will have the funds.

Oumar Solet has been allowed to miss training today to discuss a transfer. He is supposedly our’ alternative to Todibo so more likely to join us.

With respect. ……I’m afraid Simon is , let’s say not the most reliable of people when it comes to signings ..so I wouldn’t take alot of notice

  • Kip says:

I don’t see the point in this as the plsyer doesn’t want to come here..so why pursue it …we want players that want to play for us …not just for the money imo
