West Ham will resist the temptation of talking a new deal with manager Slaven Bilic until the end of the season.
After a brilliant start to the season it has been speculated that the club may be ready to renegotiate the 47 year old’s deal which is understood to be short of the terms which the previous manager had with the Hammers.
Some estimates are that Slaven is earning up to £1 million a year less than Sam Allardyce and that his positional bonuses are not as advantageous.
However, sources close to the Croatian have told ClaretandHugh that money was never the motivation declaring: “This was the only job in the Premier League that he wanted – this is his club and he accepted the deal believing totally that he would succeed.”
It had been thought that new terms may be on offer around the Christmas period if the team continue on their present course.
But we were told by a top insider: “The club looks at the manager’s contractual position at the end of every season. That’s the way it works.
“This time last year after taking 17 points from 10 games everybody was saying Sam Allardyce should be handed a new deal but the Davids ALWAYS wait until the end of each season.
“Thy believe it would be entirely wrong to make a decision at this point. Everything changes as was the case after the Leicester and Bournemouth games.
“The club always does its business at the end of the season – it’s written in tablets of stone!”
Agree bubs but you would have thought Westley would be playing the way Bilic has been setting the team up!!!!! But because of professional courtesy Bilic may not get involved.?
Personally I would employ someone with club experience like Devonshire with maybe tony Carr as his assistant to help him settle in .
Obviously as usual when someone new comes in they want to do it their way and as such
tony Carr although there for advice is not seeking his advice due to professionalism ,
Same as Lanzini just get the contracts signed,
Slav has already out done Hippo so give him at least the same wages and a longer contract
He is a man of honour so will stay when the bigger clubs come running, but in 5 years there won’t be many much bigger then us,
On the Westley situation I will let Slav make my decision for me what’s going on,maybe the lads have to change their style to play like the first team so if they are drafted in they can make the change easy,
Am i missing something here or are our development squad actually complete garbage? They’ve got some good prospects coming through as we all know so it can only put it down to massive underachievement. That has to be down to Westley.
If Hippohead was honest, he’d give back the money he owes us and we can divvy it up with the Slav Lads.
Respect the decimal point!
