New blow for Lanzini

|

Manuel Lanzini has an anxious wait to find out the extent of a new injury he sustained in today’s game at Old Trafford which forced him off.

The player was seen grabbing his groin areas in pain and tried to carry on but the pain was too great and he was replaced by Grady Diangana.

The Argentine has a suspected groin strain but it too early to tell and he will be medically assessed tomorrow when he is scanned.

Pellegrini was not asked about Manu in his post-match press conference at Old Trafford and being a man of fewest words as possible to the press he won’t discuss things he is not asked about.

A groin strain is an injury or tear to any of the adductor muscles of the thigh. These are the muscles on the inner side of the thigh.

Like hamstrings, groin strains are graded 1 to 3 where 1 is minor and just requires rest and 3 is serious and can require surgery.
