New Bowen injury claim

The Athletic reports that Jarrod Bowen will miss this week’s clash with Sevilla.

The winger limped out of the encounter against Liverpool but there has been positive news on the injury front.

The club confirmed over the weekend that he had not sustained any significant damage to his heel but the outlet claims that he is set to miss the game against the Spanish side, as well as the Premier League encounter against Aston Villa.

It could also have a knock-on effect for Bowen’s chances of earning a first cap for England, with Gareth Southgate set to name his squad for upcoming friendlies against Switzerland and the Ivory Coast this month.

It will be a significant blow for boss David Moyes ahead of perhaps the biggest game of the season thus far, if this report does turn out to be correct.

Declan Rice, though, ought to be fit to play against the Liga side.
