New chance for AC as exit door beckons strike duo

Andy Carroll looks to have been thrown a new Hammers lifeline as the Hammers futures of Marko Arnauotivic and Javier Hernandez look dimmer by the day.

Arnie is definitely on his way given the club receive the right offer from China and if Valencia come up with the right numbers the Mexican will be gone too.

And all of this very unexpected activity could leave AC drinking in Last Chance Saloon again as he bids to show himself worthy of a new contract.

A week ago it seemed the big Geordie would have little chance of proving himself worthy of a new deal or seeing the option exercised on his current one.

Now he could easily become a key figure up front along with Michail Antonio although there does seem a big chance a new striker will be arriving should the Arnie/Chich duo find themselves on the way.

Either way Carroll has the chance of making an impression so long as he can stay fit of course.

  1. There seems to be plenty of media buzz about replacement strikers with Werner, Gomez and Piatek all being mentioned and offers going in apparently for the latter two.

We are talking about some serious young players here with huge futures.

If MP can get any one of those three over the line, what a coup it will be.

  2. By breaking up the squad and selling Arnie and the pea not only have we finished of having a really good season we have just given all the power to p!Ayers, they will just hold us to ransom when they want to leave …just when we thought our club was changing from doing stuff like this …it’s like we wAnt to make problems for ourselves..I don’t want to hear ,oh well if they don’t want to play for us then what’s they point…well what’s the point in having contracts at all then …back to clown Ville. Then ….pathetic

    • The players have had the power for a long time Kip, this goes on at all clubs, look how many players the gooners have lost for no fee, I have seen it at Liverpool, City, Chelsea, Spuds, Leicester if a player wants to go they will, we are not in the higher echelons of desireable locations but we have MP, Hernandez has been decent in his last few games before getting ill, Arnie is generally good but MP or his scouts have a good eye and hopefully they will line up some good replacements, Piatek and Gomez would be a hell of a line up.

      • Fair play 32 I’m just fed up of hearing that we are selling out too players just as we start to look like a decent side .. I do think they should make a harder stance on making them stay …if they don’t like it stick them in the reserves for a few weeks that would sort them …

  3. Trust in pelly he is closer to whats going on than any of us out here all we here is gossip
He knows who he wants and knows the real reason he may let arnie or chich or both leave
he is the boss and up to now he has done everything we wished for and as a willey old chap that he is he may well pull another ace from up his sleeve

  4. Talk about trying to fuel the fire.!! There’s no way pelligrini would go into rest of season with AC as our main striker.i very much doubt both will be sold but if they do pelligrini will insist on replacements .why do you think we hardly hear from the co chairman anymore it because pelligrini is no puppet and wont stand for interference from them.some of you need to calm down

  5. I dont think MP will have Caroll as his first team striker. He clearly does not suit the style of play and slows down our entire game when on the pitch.

I am hopeful (if not certain) if Arnie & Chica do leave the club we will replace them with at least one player. The only reasons we must be selling Hernandez on top of Arnie that I can think of would be to gain funds to bring in a big name striker or to release chicas wages to pay arnie more.

With the names being mentioned as replacements you never know it could actually turn out to be a blessing in disguise.
