New Coufal deal may have to wait

Former Hammers hero Frank McAvennie  believes Vladimir Coufal will soon be receiving a new Hammers deal.

The first hint of such was dropped by BBC commentator Steve Bowyer in a recent broadcast but despite inquiries by CandH the club has still not confirmed the  suggestion.

We received no response but frankly in the current circumstances it would be no surprise were the Hammers to hold on until at least December before doing deals with players.

Vladi has two years and a two year option left on his current contract and as such there is no urgency to become involved in  new talks with the player.

However, once the club sees where it is in the winter window with hopefully the London Stadium full again, a deal could well be done.

However, the Prime Minister is claiming there remains the chance of further lockdowns in the winter period which may make life again uncertain.

Meanwhile, Macca declared on West Ham Zone: “David Moyes will bring him in and say: Mr Sullivan and mr Gold – new contract. They’ll give him a really good deal.”
