New Fornals worry

New fears have arisen over the fitness of Pablo Fornals  for the game against Arsenal at the London Stadium on Sunday.

The Spanish midfielder took a knock in the game against Leeds which kept him out of the game against Manchester United.

But we have learned today that there’s a worry the 25 year old may have a minor groin problem and as we reported yesterday he will be monitored closely until the end of the week.

There’s still every chance he could make the squad but the medical staff aren’t ready to take any risks with any of the lads at this stage of a crucial season

It will be interesting – should be prove to be unavailable – to see whether David Moyes sticks with the Mark Noble option or moves in a  more adventurous direction.

Manu Lanzini looked bright on his appearance against United whilst Said Benrahma presented a far more direct option.

The two of them created a situation which caused the hosts more problems than we had seen in the previous hour and with Jesse Lingard back opes remain high for an important victory.

  1. Hold on if Moyes decides to stick with Noble then in my opinion he will get hammered even those fans who believe he is the one to bring us to the next level. But more importantly he will beging to lose the respect of the players – some may have already began to doubt him with his tactics in the last game. How can you convince players to stay or sing for us if you are negative, is it not so obvious. We are playing at home and we need to play with 4 attack minded players if we play 4 at the back, if we play 3 at the back then we play with 3 attack minded players i.e. Lanzini in behind Antonio and Benrahma.

  2. Moyes is a good defensive coach, be great as a number 2 but tactically especially against the top teams also in the cups absolutely clueless, never won anything and never will with his go for a nil nil mentality….
Thinking outside the box he certainly doesn’t

  3. What we need to do is start with a back five, three holding mids and Noble leading the team out. Can’t see anything but a win if we do that and I’m confident Moyes will see it this why too.

  4. So far there have been 3 different suggestions about how we should set up!
This is the dilemma DM has, granted we want to see the team play football and attack, especially a poor side like ARSEnal.
Like many I was sceptical that DM came back and I happy to admit I was a non believer but my Christ I am now a believer ‘In Moyes we trust’
We played United many say we set up negatively but we lost to an own goal!! So not that bad. Playing Noble, Moyes has a plan, Nobes may not be the player he was and I think the set up against ARSEnal may be different. So much has been said but we must trust the man, he will play a decent system and our visitors will be under pressure. Unity is our key his decisions may not be to everyone’s liking but remember if we win, he’s brilliant if we draw he made a few errors if we lose he’s a w***er. He was left a squad of misfits with that squad of misfits slowly we have managed to work our way to 5th that’s 5th from top not bottom where we have been for the past 4 years…….believe in DM – for a scot he’s not that bad! He’s building the team, the team we have wanted for years – one to compete! Let’s point this winners mentality to our owners who have no money but need to back this manager…..In Moyes We Trust! Come on you Irons

  5. Benrahma or Lanzini can dep for Fornals but neither have his eye for a pass or his tackling ability imo. Let’s hope he’s fit. Still, a Benrahma-Lingard link up could be good for the future if Said gets better at his passing and shooting.
Either way, let’s hope we get at them from the start this time.
