West Ham United haven’t had too much to cheer about with headlines of Niclas Fullkrug‘s achilles injury refusing to go away as the German struggles with the Hammers’ so-called striker curse. It isn’t only the seasoned campaigners in their thirties who’ve been pulling up injured, one Irons youngster has headed back to London Stadium this week for a scan on a damaged knee.

Injured whilst on duty for Cheltenham Town last weekend, loanee Levi Laing received his knee injury against Colchester United, and an enforced rest for Cheltenham’s match on Tuesday did not see the problem improve.

He was sent back to London Stadium for further exploration and hopefully a full diagnosis this week.

The 21 year old Laing has so far featured in six games this season for The Robins in cup and League 2 competitions.

Levi Laing – hoping for a solution to knee problem

He joined West Ham as a youngster back in 2021 and was sent out on loan by Lopetegui specifically to bolster his fitness and experience. Fingers crossed that his injury responds and he is able to rejoin Cheltenham shortly where he is committed to spending the whole of this season.
