New injury worries makes Blades a frightening affair: George Earthy

New injury worries makes the Sheffield United game a frightening affair as injuries bite further and further into the Hammers squad. As we understand it, only Jarrod Bowen has any chance of being back for the game and that’s only 50-50.Lucas Paqueta won’t be and Kudus is involved elsewhere of course.

Vladi Coufal may have had his worst game in claret and blue at Ashton Gate, Zouma may or may not be available given his knees, Pablo Fornals and Edson Alvarez have also been injured in training and on top of that of course Said Benrahma’s idiocy will keep him out for three games.

Should they all be absent it is really tricky putting a team together that will have to battle against a Blades team looking to escape relegation. The hosts Blades though have only won two of their last 11 games before beating Gillingham 0-4 in the FA Cup and in normal circumstances we would be looking for a comfortable win.

But the Irons are in nothing like comfortable circumstances and as Harry might say are down to beyond the bare bones. For me Ben Johnson deserves another chance but elsewhere things look very difficult indeed should the above players not be available.

If they aren’t could this could even be the team we will see: Areola, Johnson Mavropanos, Oggy, Cresswell, Emerson, Ward-Prowse, Soucek, Earthy, Marshall, Ings
