New Martial development

West Ham’s hopes of landing Manchester United striker Anthony Martial have suffered a big blow.

The 21 year old has been strongly linked with a move to the London Stadium and at one stage looked a likely proposition.

United boss Jose Mourinho was thought to be preparing to allow the player out but that appears to have been knocked firmly on the head by Martial’s agent Philippe Lamboley.

He is reported as saying: “Martial has two years left and there is no reason for him to leave Manchester today,” If Ed Woodward tells me they want him to leave, things are different.

“But that is not what he told me during our last meeting.”

Hammers boss Slaven Bilic had the striker on a list of targets  but he may now have to put the black pen through that one.
