New Moyes contract beckons

West Ham will offer David Moyes his new contract at the end of the season.

The manager and board are entirely happy with each other and Moyes is now more than ready to continue the work he has begun at the club.

In reality it’s only now a matter of the two sides putting their signatures on a piece of paper as Moyes has fulfilled all the clauses written in to ensure that he remains in charge.

There had been suggestions the deal would have been formalised  by Christmas but as is always the way the board – with Moyes’ agreement – will offer him a two year deal once the season is complete.

The manager admitted his first priority was in restoring a reputation marred by periods at  Manchester United, Realm Sociedad and Sunderland.

And he made it clear he was unworried about signing a contract until he had guided the team to safety and now continuing the charge for European qualification.

However, the new deal is  a formality after his extraordinary achievements with insiders claiming he is entirely happy to remain at the London Stadium.

  1. Moysie thoroughly deserves a new deal. Not only is it good for his immediate future but it’s good for the squad. At long last there’s a feeling of continuity and consistency.
Hopefully, this will add further weight in his drive of changing the culture at West Ham. He should have been offered a deal the first time he saved us from relegation; but the board got there in the end abs did the right thing. Onwards and upwards. COYI.
