New name in Hammers goalkeeping frame

West Ham’s goalkeeping position is today continuing to cause anxiety with Adrian allegedly seeking assurances over his position at the club.

We reported last night the Spaniard is unsettled by the current situation with the club looking for and launching bids for a new keeper.

And today word is that with a year left on his current deal  the Spaniard  is unready to talk any sort of new deal until he gets some certainty over his position.

The Hammers are known to hold an interest in Swansea’s Lukasz Fabianski and have also been considering a move for Burnley’s Tom Heaton (right).

The 32 year old was out for much of last season with a shoulder injury but according to Clarets boss Sean Dyche is now close to full fitness and ready to challenge Nick Pope for the No 1 spot.

Heaton is contracted to the Turf Moor club until 2020 and we have been told that Burnley have put a £15 – £18 million price on his head to deter  interest.

Obviously none of this is impressing Adrian and after his experiences over the last two years and with interest from Real Betis could push for a move, leaving the Hammers with an unhappy player if he is again forced to settle for the No 2 role.

We were told: “Not unnaturally Adrian – after his experiences over the past two seasons Adrian is not ready to enter into serious talks. He has a year left on his deal.”

Swansea are reported to be ready to play  hardball over the Hammers move for their player of last season Fabianski as the Hammers enter their too regular stop/start transfer market activities.

  1. Sorry we have lost Lanzini who we need to replace. Give Adrian the assurance he needs, make him no 1 as Heaton or Fabianski are no improvement. Bring in a young keeper with potential as no 2. I just don’t understand what Sullivan is thinking, thank god it is not my business. As I said in a previous post a defence not impressed with the players we are being linked in. If we spend stupid money on average players like Fabianski and Mawson we are not improving the team to bring it to the next level.

  2. I’d prefer us to be linked with Nick Pope. Younger and buckets of potential, he’d be a great no.2 and will fill the gap left by Adrian when he finally takes the gloves off

  3. You don’t need the best players to make a team.
You need players that gel together
Don’t take any notice of rumours.
We have a top manager have faith who ever he signs and let’s go.
It’s exciting times for Hammer fans.

  4. Still struggling to understand why Adrian isn’t considered good enough . He’s just as good as any of the keepers mentioned in this article . Even better than a good few of them . Shame he isn’t English imo .

  5. All this rumor made me sick. Some media publish news and rumour for a profit, and some for propaganda. Nothing happen and all about reject offer. We should learn how hudderfield work at this transfer, they keep silent and bring in some good player. I though we can ended up like last season, we got excited about rumour then get **** up a whole season. I wish pellegrini is not like ronald koeman at everton.

  6. As you all should know, a goalkeeper is only as good as the defence before him, our defence was absolute crap all season so it didn’t matter who was in goal, they had no chance to shine really, Adrian is a great keeper and Hart not bad either they just had crap in front of them so were shown up by the defence all season.
We should give Adrian the goalkeeper jersey and sign a number two goalkeeper good enough to stand in when needed, when we get the defence we have been promised you will see Adrian shine and be confident in the guys in front of him which was sadly missed last season, in Pelligrini we trust come on you Irons give us a season to be proud of.

  7. Our transfer business is looking bad news AGAIN I just herd we offered 17mil for Anderson who has a buy out of 38 wasn’t this the problem and reason we didn’t get our targets last time..it’s like they want people to turn us down why are offers so embarrassing and so low all the time ..everyone tries to save a bit but for God sake it’s just ridiculous..other pre m clubs don’t seem to have this trouble

  8. Give Adrian the assurances he wants and sign a decent back up.
