New nonsense report on Iron’s contract
This is becoming not so much the silly season as the nonsense season as rumours over stories broken exclusively on Claret and Hugh attract fiction in a desperate attempt at a follow-up yarn.
First it was the rubbish claiming that Tomas Soucek would be leaving at the end of the season as his contract would have ran out when in fact he has signed for the Hammers for another four years back in the summer.
Unable to claim exclusives for themselves, we see media outlets now confusing our facts with their fiction over the future of captain Kurt Zouma.
Nonsense report links Hammers to Saudi Arabia
Football Insider are claiming their sources inside the club claim the board would love to hand Kurt Zouma a new deal to end speculation over a potential move to Saudi Arabia
The real truth is – as reported here this week – that the Hammers are holding out on offering the player a deal because he has this year and next year left on this one and they are waiting to see how things go.
Our source explained that he had desperately bad knees which swell up after matches and mean he can only manage certain days training each week. They added that’s why the clu decide to restrict the current length of his contract to four years.
Both ourselves and ITK Fabrizio Romano have also made it clear that no other club has shown any interest whatsoever in the player.
According to FBRef, Zouma currently earns a weekly wage of £125,000 – but that the deal will end in June 2025 and that a modest wage increase would keep him at the club.
That too would have to be inaccurate as Jarrod Bowen is now top earner on £125,000 and any increase would take Zouma above that which wouldn’t be on.
