Sometimes there’s a conflict when putting pen to paper to report on ‘West Ham Transfer Rumours’ even once they have been verified and confirmed. They simply don’t appear plausible because of the profile of the player involved: Such was the case with N’Golo Kante who seemed both old and expensive.

Indeed, sometimes the forthcoming response when reading a report in an overseas newspaper concerning ‘Hammers interest’ begs the question ‘Why would West Ham be interested in this player?’

Another young, left footed right winger on the radar for The Irons? Surely we have enough cover in that department and have other priorities. However.. Yes this one can apparently play across the front line. So, we will just highlight the possibility, anyway, and ‘watch this space’. Stranger things have happened than signing three players for the same position.

According to Italian newspaper Tuttosport West Ham United are about to become the third club bidding for the services of  Argentine highly rated forward Matius Soulé this week:  Roma and Leicester have been underbidding to try and secure the player on the cheap (sounds familiar!) but The Hammers are set to leap in with a bid worth £35 million to place themselves in pole position.

Doesn’t sound like a traditional West Ham United bidding strategy either. Fans are used to a slower style of negotiations, trying to prise players away for the lowest price regardless of the risk of losing them to a competitor in the process.

However, 21 years old and an Argentinian international would be the right demographic for our rebuild. We have reported on rumoured interest before  for Soulé, so if a bid is forthcoming (I doubt it) we will all hear about it this week according to Tuttosport: I remain puzzled as to how the young forward would fit into our plans but that is a problem for Steiden and Lopetegui.

From the old Bobby Moore Upper to the Billy Bonds' stand these days I've been watching since '03 and a supporter since about 1970.. Don't take my comments too seriously, imagine we are having a chat at half time over a pint at L S and "let's disagree without falling out".

David Moyes provided a master class in f..king up players by playing them in the wrong positions . Every player has their best position and desired style of play and should be played as such .

if we are interested and fail to get him it will bite us in the ass

this guy is ready now, he will be the only backup we have to paqueta, ie a focal point in possession to launch attacks

people get so hung up on fixed positions and forget how fluid the game can be, soule being left footed, or used on the right for a season doesn’t bother me in the slightest – as a creator in a fluid attack this really isn’t important, what is important is high quality and unique traits that our squad is in desperate need of

you take paqueta out of this squad and we are screwed, a player with soules vision is passing is absolutely critical this window, after missing out on garcia i think this is the most importing signing, fundamental to a high possession system that wants to build up patiently and find the right pass

I genuinely can’t see us jumping in and offering £35m when others are bidding much much less.

Soule is a baller! This guy excites me and with Kudus likely to leave at the end of this season, it makes sense to get him in now. Probably be worth easily twice that in a couple of years at least.

    Players preference is Roma.
Bids from Roma and Leicester are not reaching expected amounts.
If correct and he can play anywhere (versatile) across frontline with Kudus speed whu should outbid others.
Juventus need funds to sign Tomori.
Need to get it done now not enter into a haggling war and lose play for a few million.

Soule is already a world class player and can play anywhere along the front line and as we have no left wingers at present it’s obvious he could start there with absolutely no problem fitting into our plans. If we are lucky enough to get him then what a lovely problem we would have fitting him into our team. He is another Kudus!
