New rule gives Hammers wriggle room

Hammer Felipe Anderson can play for a third club this season due to a change in COVID rules

In a normal season that wouldn’t have been allowed but this seasonĀ  a temporary rule change to alleviate the effects of the pandemic in the 2020/2021 seasonĀ  was made by FIFA .

Anderson played two Premier League games and made three League Cup appearances for West Ham this season and has made three appearances for FC Porto since his loan deal in the summer.

The Hammers are unhappy that he has only played 49 minutes of football since arriving back in Europe and the new rule gives them wriggle room to try organising a new loan.

However, ClaretandHugh understands there is no chance of the Brazilian returning to the east end unless the Hammers find a club ready to take him on and give him plenty of playing time.
