New striker target enters Irons frame

Andre Gray celebrates scoring

West Ham casting their net far and wide for a new striker or strikers and are reportedly ready to launch a   £15 million move for Burnley’s unsettled Andre Gray.

The Hammers saw a similar offer turned down  in January but could be successful this time around.

The club is moving on a variety of players as they bid to avert last season’s issue in landing their men by concentrating on only one or two.

The club has been busily preparing it’s wanted list for months with the added valuations on each player.

Gray wants  big increase on his current deal which just has one year to run and the Clarets now appear resigned to losing a player who bagged 12 goals last season..

Burnley who have sold central defender Michael Keane to Everton for £25 million are also resigned to losing Gray who scored nine Premier League goals last season.

  1. Would love to see this one tbf. Think he has great potential. Hernandez would be a stdal at £13m too.

  2. For 10-15m, think this could be a very good purchase. You would hope joining a team better than Burnley would mean better service and more goals.

  3. 12 Goals eh ,, wow . Can’t hide my excitement . Come on West Ham please get serious .

  4. One of my pals is a Claret. Born and bred and he thinks he is a lazy fecker. He would have him sold tomorrow. I don’t know me I’ve not watched him much but my mate knows his stuff. Anyhow Chico and Geroud for me. I’d be in heaven if we got them 2.

    • Chico yes , but I still have my doubts about Giroud .

    • I hvae the same opinion of him John, I think if we paid him more money he would have a reason to be even lazier and when you think Sean Dyche is a no nonsense manager what would he be like under laid back Slav ?

  5. Only 12 goals. how many did our centre forwards manage last year? 9 combined i believe.

  6. If what Gold said was true and we want proven strikers with premier league experience, then it’s Hernandez over Gray, all day long.

  7. Sorry but the way we are dealing with our transfer is pathetic one min its this player then another and have u noticed that every time they talk about buying a Forward’ its always for 20mil my god they say they want to be up with the big boys then put up the b
Bloody Mooney ..if a club want 25 mil for a player that we really want then give them 27 to get it done not offer 20to save a few quid which they are not short of ..I’m sorry but other clubs may be paying over the odds but at least they are getting there player ..the Birmingham fans said that the two Davids promised the world but delivered nothing and I’m start to agree with them ..were is the 35mil shrine we was sposed to have last year…sorry but its PATHETIC

    • I would say whats PATHETIC is that you most obviously believe everything you read or hear in the media. If it was your money would you spend millions over the top of what was wanted…….no i thought not..
I think you will also find it was not all Brum fans said that but the hysterical fans amongst them much like we have…Carson Yeung ring any bells after they left..

    • Hammerkip i repect your views you are entitled to them but i live in the midlands and it is not true to believe all Birmingham fans wanted them out, especially after the Kumars debacle there. There are many fans now who know that they thought the grass would be greener on the other side but it wasnt
Tom Ross a phone in presenter would often have tasty disagreements wit them but if you read his autobiography which i did he said
“They restored a sense of pride for the supporters, which was in short supply following the Kumars and, previously to that, the reign of Ken Wheldon. I would have them back at the club in a heartbeat.”

What im saying chief is dont always believe the noisy minority.

      • Fair enough James’s at least you respect my opinion and maybe I’m wrong with some of what I said but I still believe we don’t help Ourselves when it comes to transfers

  8. I don’t like his attitude and his demands of 70k at Burnely from 25k. And Burnley actually have some good service. We are not much better for service unless we get Gylfi.
If we could get him for £8m and pay £40k then ok. But he is homophobic and know for having attitude issues. And 12 goals.
By that logic Negredo would be the better option with 15 goals with a club who really had not service. Traore had 1 assist and they played very defensively. He would have smaller transfer fee and lower wage demands.
I would like Chicarito, Kelechi, Giroud of we can bc Giroud with even Ayew as a poacher would work HE does good with pace fwds.
Think Modeste we should forget and if we could get Timo that would be a dream.
But I don’t fancy Gray. Maybe as a 2nd option
