New twist in Lingard soap opera

|

By Hughie Southon

The near endless Jesse Lingard thing is becoming a very bad soap opera!

We have learned that the general feeling behind the scenes is that a deal may not happen because we have more midfielders than enough.

However, it has been heavily stressed that this totally a managerial decision and David Moyes solely will make the decision.

In the meantime a new report from 90 mins claims that  Lingard is now wanted by Everton which is much closer to his Manchester base and where without any question he would have more chance of regular game time.

Wolves have also been mention and CandH drew attention last week to stories that three Turkish clubs are allegedly in the chase, notably Besiktas.

He has been training with the Irons at Rush Green for a month now and remains in the frame of course but he has missed all chance of playing a part in Europe as Moyes waits and sees.

I guess it’s refreshing to know that neither Man City, Newcastle or Liverpool are trying to poach another player from us. Not that Lingard is actually our player, but still.

However, right now I reckon if West Ham were to let on that one of the club’s cleaning ladies were thinking of leaving, then the big bad Wolves would be hanging around like vultures. Is there any West Ham player that they AREN’T interested in taking?
