Manchester United are offering new signs that Declan Rice really isn’t on their wish list this summer.
And their latest move in the transfer market almost certainly means that Jesse Lingard is likely to be on his way to the London Stadium this summer once they inevitably start clawing back money from their spending spree.
After the reported £73 million bid which has been accepted in principle to take Jadon Sancho to Old Trafford it now seems the Reds are looking for a central defender rather than a defensive midfielder.
According to the Telegraph the club has been holding talks with Real Madrid over the possible signing of Raphael Varane.
Solskjaer would now like to bolster his options in the position and hopes the club can do a deal at between £50 million to £60 million for Varane, despite a gap in their valuations of the France World Cup winner with the Spanish giants.
As mentioned in an earlier piece on here Man City won’t be moving given they have re-signed Fernandinho to a year’s contract with Declan looking booked for another season with the hammers at least after the two recent contract offers.
