Newcastle deal West Ham another Hammer blow

By Gonzo

According to multiple sources Newcastle United are believed to have agreed a deal to hire Hammers talent spotter Delroy Ebanks.

West Ham United’s head of academy recruitment has joined the north-east outfit as they continue to plunder rival clubs in a bid to fast-track their transfer set-up. It is understood that Ebanks has already begun working for Newcastle after resigning from his post at Chadwell Heath.

Newcastle are looking to make several more acquisitions as part of sporting director Dan Ashworth’s relentless recruitment drive. Ashworth himself was poached from Brighton Hove Albion, where he established his reputation.

It is reported that Ebanks has taken on a recruitment role in which he becomes the Toon’s new London and South East lead scout and will be based in the capital to search for upcoming talent to sign for Newcastle.

West Ham are now thought to be looking for a new academy recruitment manager to replace the highly regarded Ebanks, and it’s expected that Mark Noble will play a prominent role in the process.

Newcastle recently signed West Ham’s talented full-back Harrison Ashby who found it difficult to force his way into David Moyes first team squad. It is understood that Ashby had refused all attempts to offer him a new contract.
