Newcastle duo back and in form ahead of Irons

West Ham hopes that Newcastle’s highly dangerous winger Allan Saint-Maximin could miss next week’s opener were knocked firmly on the head as he starred in the 3-0 win over Norwich City yesterday.

It was his first appearance for several games after having been described as suffering an illness but he returned with a scintillating display in the second half.

He received rave reports in the local press after sparking the Geordies victory following a goalless first half.

Callum Wilson was also tipped to be an absentee from the Irons match after nursing a hamstring injury but instead, he provided an assist for one of the goals and looks set to take up his usual role of the possible Hammers bogeyman after a history of goals against us.

Meanwhile, The hammers will be hoping that their careful nursing of Angelo Ogbonna will reap rewards with the central defender being ready for the trip to St Jame’s Park.
