Newcastle’s Bowen Transfer Swoop

According to the Telegraph, Newcastle United is gearing up for a major summer transfer spree, with Everton’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin and West Ham United’s Jarrod Bowen topping their wish list.

The Magpies recognize the hurdles in securing both players, acknowledging that substantial fees will be required, which may necessitate selling some of their current squad. Newcastle is specifically seeking a right-winger to replace Miguel Almiron, who managed only three goals in 33 Premier League appearances this season.

Jarrod Bowen, who scored 20 goals this season for West Ham, has been identified as the ideal candidate to fill this role.

While Crystal Palace’s Michael Olise is also considered, competition for his signature from Manchester United makes that prospect less certain.

Newcastle’s previous attempt to acquire Bowen was turned down by West Ham. However, the Telegraph suggests that the appointment of Julen Lopetegui as head coach might make West Ham more open to negotiations.

Despite these reports, it seems highly improbable. Eddie Howe’s Newcastle might be interested in Bowen, but it’s unlikely that West Ham would part with our star player. Additionally, the financial feasibility of Newcastle meeting the likely Ā£100M+ asking price for Bowen is doubtful, given FFP constraints.

Seems ridiculous when all you hear is that Newcastle will be forced to sell either Guimeras or Isak in order to balance the books and comply with FFP

  • Robert O'Shea says:

Newcastle will not getting Bowen and that’s a fact
He has already committed himself to the hammers and is looking forward to working alongside the new manager
Why would we sell our best players

And, as they say ā€˜If my Aunt had a dick she’d be my Uncle’. So the point of this article (apart from the clicks) is?

  • Jellied Eel says:

I am sure that it is a fact that Newcastle would like Bowen. So would every other Premier League team and most European clubs. I am also sure that Dulwich Hamlet would like Bowen too. Tant pis.

This site has become a f*****g joke they are trivial in pursuit of reporting any old b******s that they can yet they don’t report anything that’s, actually factual, if any one pays a subscription to this they need their head examined.

    Typical end of season rubbish,
Why would he want to go to a lesser club when he’s a claret and blue through and through.
Can’t beat the press for crap!!

  • Trevor says:

Gonzo….. you and I both know Bowen is going nowhere. He’s a Hammer for life.
    Please stop this.

  • CareBare says:

Apparently Paqueta has put a bet on that Liverpool buy Bowen.

  • Kevlar says:

Bullshit ! you shouldn’t report this rubbish as you know that he loves west ham and is tied to a 7 year contract. And Newcastle couldn’t afford him as they are going to have to sell their best players guimares and isak to avoid ppf charges!!! So please only report legitimate news stories.

    • rollercoaster hammer says:

yeah, can we also stop these kinds of comments as well. it is news that Newcastle want Bowen. we all know it won’t happen but it’s still news. it doesn’t say it will happen, in fact the complete opposite. so many people return to this site over and over just to complain about it. stop coming to the site and read the tripe on other bu:*$^t accounts…or better still, maybe these people could put the effort in and start their own account for the benefit of everyone else. it’s really giving creedence to the perception that all our fans are moaners

      • Toby says:

Nah, these comments are entirely justified, this story doesn’t come from a want or need to share information with other west ham fans, it’s purely for clicks

  • Harry says:

More utter BS why do you even post this, this site has become a tabloid.

  • Brendan says:

Same old story mega rich club think they can flash the cash and we all bow down to what they want well they can take a hike Bowen won’t be going anywhere he is a West Ham man for the rest of his career apart from anything else Newcastle couldn’t afford him no mater how much they may offer so you gordies can f—k off

  • Deathblow says:

yeah, you can have Bowen for 350 million plus add-ons, with 200 million as an immediate payment.
    eff right off sportwashing assholes

  • Jeeps says:

    No chance.
Bowen is west ham thru and thru.
    Ask Dani Dyer.

  • Bish says:

Not a hope in hell. Bowen’s contract runs until 2030, and neither West Ham nor the player himself have any interest in his joining Newcastle FC. Time to go sniff round somebody else.

    • Keith says:

      It’s just paper talk mate.

      • Tony says:

Exactly. I’m sure I read somewhere that less than 10% of transfer gossip turns out to be true and only a very small handful of people get quite a few right, normally people close to clubs hierarchy.

  • Whippethammer says:

There’s no story to be had. You and the readership all know he’s going nowhere as well as Kudus. Can you please not join in with the gutter reporting on fake news. It spoils an OK site.
