Newham residents could lose London Stadium tickets

|

It appears that Newham residents could soon be losing their community tickets for the London Stadium including West Ham matches.

Under the terms of the concessionaire agreement, Newham council were entitled to up to 100,000 tickets per year as part owners of the former Olympic Stadium. Newham dissolved their stadium ownership partnership with E20 Stadium on 1st December 2017 while promising to honour legacy commitments after investing over £52m.

In a Statement made by Newham after giving up part ownership they promised: “Access for Newham residents to top sporting and entertainment events with thousands of free tickets distributed by the council every year over the next 100 years”

On a conference call of the E20 Stadium LLP Executive group on 12th March LLDC senior management discussed the removal of Newham Community tickets from the concessionaire agreement. During the one hour call, an update on the West Ham look and feel within the London Stadium was also discussed along with the 2018 costs of moving the seats within the lower bowl as well as a legal update on the ongoing disputes with West Ham.

The agenda for the meeting was recently released under Freedom of Information although the final outcome of the meeting is not known.  Both LLDC and Newham press offices were both approached to comment but a response was not received.

Slow news day? Second time this article has appeared on Claret and Hugh over recent days. Can’t remember if it’s word for word but it has the same information as the one posted by Hugh hit so long ago.

    • We took original story down for a few days after feedback from one of parties involved.

We asked their press offices to comment for ove a week without reply so the story has been restored
