Newly promoted and now chasing two West Ham stars

Leeds United are back in the big time. The Whites confirmed their promotion this week and are spared the agony of another excruciating brush with the Championship Playoffs – the best spectacle in football provided you’re a neutral!

Looking to invest heavily, and (much like West Ham, ironically!)  finding themselves limited as to the talent pool of players they can attract with a high risk of relegation and of course no exposure to European football, Leeds are a setting their sites accordingly and are reported to be chasing two West Ham players to bolster their ranks this summer.

The stories concerning Tomas Soucek being an Everton – David Moyes – target are not new, but reported in leedsunited.news apparently Tornado Tom would ‘consider’ joining Leeds after a [disagreement; with Graham Potter. It’s clear from Gonzo’s article earlier today that Soucek is unhappy on the bench and wants game time – which Potter might not be able to guarantee him next season. Everton and Moyes lurk bit Leeds consider they have just as much to offer Soucek if he decides to quit West Ham

What is less known, according to the article, is that:

He’s not the only West Ham player to be touted with a move to Leeds, either. The Whites want a striker and England international Danny Ings has been suggested as an option, as he struggles for game time. Ings would be a bit of an underwhelming signing for Leeds”

This to me is a grave miscalculation by the Yorkshire club who clearly haven’t watched Ings this season – he’d be just about perfect as a Championship level striker for another 12 months, but the last thing they need if they’re trying to score goals in the Premier League:

At 32- surely another reason  for Premier League clubs not to consider other Premier League sides’ cast-offs. Soucek and Ings. I do feel sorry for Leeds but – ‘you pays yer money and you takes yer choice!’
