Nikola Milenkovic update

|

West Ham United  & Fiorentina remain in talks over the signing of  23-year-old defender Nikola Milenkovic but the deal is not completed as it stands as some reports in Italy have wrongly claimed.

Club sources confirm Milenkovic remains an option for the centre back position left vacant by the departure of Fabian Balbuena but there are a number of other options in the same position should they not be able to get this deal over the line.

The Hammers are not the only club involved in a move for the Serbian defender the deal is not as close as some are reporting.

Juventus are also said to be interested in the central defender but have yet to make a bid and that could delay the player agreeing on personal terms with West Ham. The reported transfer fee between the two parties is said to be €20m (£17m).

Fiorentina appears to be already lining up a replacement in Matija Nastasic.

    Busy going nowhere.

Has the bid been accepted? And surely his agent will know, if he wants to join us. Yes or no. Very simple. Why does everything take so long with us. Other clubs don’t seem to have this problem. If the player is still unsure he’s not for us, move on.

Actually, every club has the same problems, with too many people trying to report on non-stories. Take a punt round a few other clubs’ websites and they’re all the same. Liverpool fans are going mad both ways for the Bowen link.

Villa spent the Grealish money in advance and paid well over the odds for Danny Ings & Co.; everyone knew they were likely to have the cash so held them o ransom. The same is probably true for us with Declan – selling clubs think if we’re looking to buy, it must be to spend the money we think his sale is bringing in.

Come on get this sorted out. Its’ amazing how we’re still dilly dallying around.
There wont be anyone out there worth signing by the time they’ve made they’re minds up.
      So unprofessional, its almost unbelievable!!

Alasdair, I’m not particularly picking on you but all the people commenting in a negative fashion over a lack of visible transfer activity. It would seem that you believe that if you can’t see anything happening, then nothing is happening, when the reality is quite the opposite with most clubs burning the midnight oil trying to get deals done in a market that is always difficult, and is doubly so with the effect of the pandemic. There are so many things that have to fall into place in order to get a deal over the line. Agents from both sides want the biggest cut they can get , players all want to play in the Champions League, the selling clubs want the best deal they can get, why do you think transfer deadline day is always so busy ? It’s because all involved are holding out for the best deal they can get and realism takes a back seat until the window nears the end. I wish it was as simple as buying a packet of crisps as you seem to believe but the reality is much more difficult. Try to show a little patience as there is a long way to go before the window closes. We still have that same team that did so brilliantly last season and if we don’t land the players we are after it certainly won’t be for want of trying or a reluctance to part with the money

We really need to see this one get done , not keep changing targets!

  • West Ham Fan No 32 says:

Hopefully we get this done, the guy looks quality and could provide the solid central defensive partnership that shuts everyone out, could be our Van Dijk, we still need a left back that can defend to replace Cresswell consistently, Ben Johnson is getting better and Arthur too but its an area that is consistently exploited. Will also be a lot happier when we get a deal over the line with Coufal.

If your report is correct then they are juggling players…Well run clubs identify a player and sign him, if they don´t get that player though go for the 2nd one.. This is not rocket science!!
Sullivan seems to revel in all this though.
Just an poor and embarrassing way to do their business, if your article is intact correct though!!

hear we go…..considering that fofana broke he’s leg the other day….can see Leicester knicking him…..then our owners say….WE TRIED….yanw yawn #gsbout

Reckon we’ll end up with the Soton defender Vestergaard. We were linked to Milenkovic, Caletta-Car, Tah and Tomori before ending up with Dawson last year. Think it will play out the same again having been linked to Milenkovic, Caletta-Car and Zouma already this time round. Vestergaard more in the Dawson mould and the type of defender Moyes likes.

    • Hammer_Rite says:

Yeah i’d go for Vestergaard, good player with premiership experience.
Milinkovic might be brilliant in Serie A but as a lot of overseas players have found out it’s completely different playing in the EPL,

  • Childish says:

Bids accepted but players is not sure …I think he wants a bigger club , so I can’t see this happening…..every day I hope I see a signing but every day is disappointing …Will be to little to late now imo anyway…the forwards that were decent targets of ours are mostly gone or they don’t want to sign…they are still hoping on Abraham, but its obvious he dosnt want to sign, so will be complete waste of time..we will start new season with nearly exactly same squad……not nearly enough imo ..still 3/4 players short..and they can’t get hardly anything done apart from free non league youngsters, so really no chance of the players we need …..total mess and like alot of other fans ,I’ve pretty much given up on it all …Will be interesting to see what happens if we lose first few games and get key injury to a player like Antonio,,and that is not so unlikely…

    • james says:

yep spot on. They left it to late. we could of signed him, if we acted sooner. Unfortunately we waited now he will go else where.

We are soo light on numbers its embarrassing. If we loose Antonio in first game, clubs will hold us at ramson.

  • Steve says:

The transfer window should shut before the European season gets underway

Lukaku or someone will have gone to Chelski and Abraham will have made his mind up (as would Blackburn over Armstrong etc etc)

Pogba will have made his mind up do Lingard can too and other midfielders fall into place thereafter

All the Champions League clubs will have got their defenders in place so the Europa league teams can have the next pick before the other clubs

What we don’t need to do is either go back to back yo Pellegrini style buying players in May that lose you a fortune years later or worse still sell our teamleader for 100mill, just so we can pick up Ings etc for 25 Mill

Leicester have done well over the years flogging their best players for princely sums, we’ve been flogging our Pellegrini flops for massive losses

Close the Transfer window earlier and let us all sleep in peace

Ps…. I will still check the websites 5 or 6 times a day to see who we’ve signed 🤔
