No bid for Marega say Porto

FC Porto president Pinto da Costa says West Ham have made no official bid for Moussa Marega. The president gave an interview to local media outlet O Jogo today translated by Sports Witness in which he denied a formal bid.

“Regarding Marega, we have no concrete offer and last Thursday the son of the West Ham owner was in Porto accompanied by an agent,” Pinto da Costa told O Jogo.

“They asked about several players, one of them Marega, but they did not present any concrete proposal. And they were informed that the player and his agent had agreed to the renewal for one more season with new expiration and new release clause.”

David Sullivan Junior and favored agent Will Salthouse are claimed to be the two representatives in question in Portugal speaking to various clubs.  Chairman’s son David Sullivan junior posted social media photos from Lisbon last week.
The local Portuguese media insists that the Dragons will not let Marega go for less than his release clause, which is of €40m.

  1. He was an odd choice I thought anyway, seems like a big lump but his stats don’t suggest a superstar, Pereira would be my choice as a perfect replacement for Kouyate from Porto.
