Remember the Jean-Clair Todibo saga, which involved West Ham’s Tim Steidten travelling to bring back the defender on his private jet and to secure his signature for West Ham, right under Juve’s nose?
The media was full of ‘West Ham hijack Juventus deal’ headlines at the time. How we laughed.
Now it appears the Italians may be trying to get their own back.
Spotted today was a report on line from Juve FC entitled :”Juventus could turn to West Ham wantaway as an alternative to Joshua Zirkzee”
And so it continues, detailing their suggestion that “Juventus might find it hard to land Joshua Zirkzee [from Manchester United] in January, so they could turn their attention to Niklas Fullkrug.”
Let me tell you – and Juve – something right now.
However much Niclas Fullkrug might ‘not have settled’ in London or however ‘homesick’ he might have been feeling , and however much he was trying to engineer his ‘short term loan away’ from West Ham last week, that was last week.
And this week West Ham have a whole new post-apocalyptic ‘Antonio’s hospitalisation’ reality to deal with which means there is no way on this planet that Lopetegui or his successor is going to ‘ok’ the departure of the clubs’ only fit, frontline, functioning Premier League quality striker.
May I suggest West Ham reply with a very generous offer for the Italians to take Danny Ings, with our compliments.
You only got Todibo because he couldnt be starter at Juventus with Gatti and Bremer.
You will keep Fulkrug only because he wont be third striker behind Vlahovic and Milik.
Don’t fool yourself that someone will choose west ham over juventus…
