No contract talks for Hammers target

Joe Worrall

Nottingham Forest have made no moves to extend central defender Joe Worrall’s contract despite keen interest from the Hammers.

The long serving Forest star has interested David Moyes since his return to the club but signed a new deal in 2020 which runs oy un June 2024.

And with two years left on his current deal Forest will probably find June the best time to get a decent deal on the player should they fail to get promotion to the Premier League and decide to sell.

They currently sit just outside the play off places and have been in good form having remained unbeaten in the last eight games.

That talks haven’t started with the player amid such interest suggests that Forest are biding their time on a decision but a bid of around £15 million would almost certainly get the player should they enter talks.

And City Ground boss Steve Cooper confirmed the position when declaring: “There are other boys on longer-term contracts as well, who are not up for discussion at the moment because they are only a year or so into them – Joe Worrall etc.”
