No Hammers answer to a big CandH question

When  – as a journo – you ask a straightforward question and get no answer it is usually the case that it is one impossible to answer by the recipient or one to which at this time there is no answer. That’s the position we are in tonight with no Hammers answer to a big CandH question put to various West Ham United insiders well known to us and used on many occasions.

No Hammers answer

The reality at the club is that David Moyes‘ future is dominating everybody’s thoughts and the very latest is that he will be around for a while but that a new contract is not in the offing. But hang on a minute, there’s a little scenario coming up on Sunday that could surely change all that which was the reason the question was asked to, as yet, no reply.

No Hammers answer to a big CandH question

“What happens” my email said to the sources we use “should Nottingham Forest beat us on Sunday.” Currently they are one point behind us in 12th place and a defeat  would see us possibly plummeting  even further down the table should Wolves, Chelsea and Fulham win. Unlikely, but stranger things have  been known and it would see us in 15th spot. However, defeat in itself would put a huge question mark, shadow, call it what you will, over any plans that may have been made re Mr Moyes.

As I have been writing the e mail window has remained  open but there remains no answer. Should we get one we will let you know but my guess is nobody has much of a clue on what will occur or, if they do, the aren’t letting on. My money is on the first suggestion.

As a long time lurker on here, there appears to be some sort of ‘witch hunt’ against Moyes, why is this? People need to be careful what they wish for, after years of false starts and achieving very little, the club has had a few decent seasons thanks in no small measure to David Moyes. Is he not trying to get the team to play a more possession based and attractive brand of football hampered by not having a top class striker?

    • The key words here are “trying to” and “not having a top class striker.” They aren’t playing better football – 5 defeats and he hasn’t bought a top class striker.” No witch hunt. It’s his job to do both
