No Lanzini…no Antonio…no problem!

|

I really like Fornals – he had great  game. I thought Wilshere looked great in front of Noble and Rice. Who would I choose for the Lanzini spot while he’s injured? I just don’t know!

The above comment comes from a member of the ClaretandHugh Facebook group at https://www.facebook.com/groups/363174467150521/ and sums up very neatly where the Hammers are right now.

We held off bringing news of the Lanzini injury for obvious reasons despite knowing the score as early as last Thursday. LIke everybody inside the club there was no way we or they intended giving United any sort of advantage.

As it turned out it would probably not have made any real difference because the Hammers were superior to the visitors in most areas of the game.

With Fornals growing into the game well, and Wilshere looking the part during his limited time on the park, we finally look like a club with a future.

As Pellegrini has pointed at various times we now have two players covering every position and they are all quality and experienced operators.

Frankly, I can’t remember a time when we were in such a luxurious position and remember too that we have no Michail Antonio available either.

Imagine  how we would have been worrying and fretting in the recent past had two of our top players been ruled out through injury.

Not anymore – we are moving forward under a manager who has organised us into a proper outfit with squad resources and all within a season and a bit.

And that’s why the future is looking pretty bright as a result.
