No mixed emotions from super keen Iron

Ryan Fredericks will be suffering no mixed emotions should he make the starting x1 for the game against his former club Fulham on Friday night.

The right back was the first signing of the summer on a free from the Cottagers in the summer after making 106 appearances over three seasons.

But any feeling he may have for the club will be buried deep beneath a determination to show that he’s more than good enough to make a serious stake for the Hammers right sided wing back role until the end of the season.

He faces a huge job to wrest the position from Zaba permanently  but that will be his only focus over the rest of the season – starting he hopes on Friday night.

He will have a particular reason to impress against his former team and started to look the part in the last game against Crystal Palace where he impressed against Wilfried Zaha.

And ahead of Friday’s game he told www.whufc.com: “Of course, I’d love to start on Friday night as I’ve got a lot of good memories and a lot of good friends from my time at Fulham.

“Obviously, it’s not going too well for them at the moment, but I’ve changed teams now and my loyalties are firmly with West Ham.

“It would be great if they could get out of trouble, but I’ve got more important things to worry about for myself than my old club.”
